Job Corps Scholars

Kingsborough Community College’s Job Corps Scholars program aims to provide new and innovative ways to deliver education and career training to eligible 18–24-year-olds. The mission of our program is to create a pipeline of talent to close existing skill gaps and to fill the millions of job vacancies in the United States.

Job Corps Scholars participants receive free academic and certified career training through Kingsborough Community College’s Office of Continuing Education which provides a wide array of course offerings in the fields of Healthcare, Business and Trade.   Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Construction OSHA/SST and A+ Certification/Computer Technology programs are just a handful of Kingsborough Community College’s Job Corps Scholars notable offerings.

All students receive intensive individualized support service and career counseling.  Job Corps Scholars staff conduct confidential needs and resource assessments with all new students in order to inform students about their option of resources and services available as they journey through their career training program.  Job Corps Scholars students also have access to personal and employment counseling as well as job/ apprenticeship placement assistance for up to 2 years (pre- and post-course certificate completion).  Additionally, Job Corps Scholars who successfully complete and pass certain courses have the opportunity to earn academic credit hours.
