Just last month, Project Rise held a Finishing Ceremony for our third cohort of participants. The results of this cohort far exceeded the program’s expected outcomes:
13 participants earned their GED
9 completed internships (a whopping 180 hours, each)
10 earned jobs through Project Rise efforts
3 were accepted at Kingsborough Community College (taking credits with them!)
Participants were awarded with certificates of completion, parting gifts and well-wishes from members of the Project Rise team. Upon completion, participants now have the skills and knowledge to advance their careers or start their higher educational journey. We wish all our participants, past, current and future, the best of luck. Please stay in touch!
Our Fall schedules are packed with Cohort 4 classes and trainings, and the start of Cohort 5. Twenty-five new participants, their friends and family, met with Project Rise staff on October 15th with a warm welcome. Recruitment for Cohort 6 (beginning February 2013) will continue throughout the Fall and early Winter! If you, or someone you know, is interested in Project Rise, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Call or check back here for upcoming information session dates.
I’m interested in this program it’s really awesome to know people who do not have their GED or hs diploma still have an opportunity to get it and have support!
Thank you, Stephanie! It’s our goal to reach as many interested young adults as possible. Our participants have been eager with their coursework and training and we couldn’t be more pleased!
