Eligibility: The program is for ESL students who are accepted to the City University of New York (CUNY). Students who attend the program are expected to attend City University after completing CLIP. The program is voluntary for entering college freshmen. Students are placed according to evaluation of the Accuplacer diagnostic writing test, which determines placement in college credit or ESL courses, or the CLIP program. Per CUNY policy, if you do not have basic speaking, reading, and writing skills in English, you may be referred to either a free program, if available, or to our new low-cost Pre-CLIP program (see below), where you can gain the necessary skills before enrolling in CLIP.
Cost:
Spring and Fall (12 weeks, each): $145
Summer and Winter (6 weeks, each): $75

Students have an opportunity to improve their English language skills without using their financial aid. Students may remain in the program for a maximum of 900 hours: 300 hours (Fall); 150 hours (Winter); 300 hours (Spring); and 150 hours (Summer). Registration is available for either day or evening classes.
